History of ESP Service LLC

The history of ESP Service LLC dates back to 1981, when the first Electric Submersible Pumps (ESP) were installed in the Kogalym region. Over the years of development and growth, the company has passed through important stages of professional expansion while broadening both the scope and geography of its operations. Today, our Company is a successful and modern enterprise placing strong emphasis on production development, service quality, and reliability of field support operations.

1981–1983

History of ESP Service LLC

1981

An ESP division was established in the Povkh settlement as part of the Surgut Central Production Service Base for Electric Submersible Systems.

1982

The first repairs of electric submersible pumps, cable systems, motor protectors, and inspections of submersible electric motors were completed.

1983

The first ESP systems were installed at the Yuzhno-Yagunskoye field.

An order was issued on November 23 establishing the Central Production Service Base for rental and repair of electric submersible systems in the settlement of Kogalym.

1984–1991

History of ESP Service LLC

1984

ESP Division No. 1 was established at the Yuzhno-Yagunskoye field at Booster Pump Station No. 2.

The first full-package ESP repairs were completed.

1985

ESP Division No. 2 was established at the Yuzhno-Yagunskoye field near Well Pad No. 30.

1986

The first ESP systems were installed at the Kustovoye field.

1987

Test-well stands were commissioned, and integrated ESP testing was carried out.

1990

A satellite service base at the Povkhovskoye field was commissioned.

1991

A satellite service base at the Tevlino-Russkinskoye field was commissioned.

1995

History of ESP Service LLC

Kogalymneftegaz and GEO PUMP OVERSEAS LIMITED established the Russian-Cypriot joint venture OILPUMP, specializing in the repair of Western-manufactured electric submersible systems.

OILPUMP began servicing imported ESP systems at oilfields.

1997–1998

History of ESP Service LLC

1997

An ESP repair workshop was commissioned in the city of Uray.

OILPUMP began repair and field service operations for the entire ESP well stock of Urayneftegaz TPP.

1998

Field service operations began for 222 ESP systems at the Non-Yeganskoye field of Pokachevneftegaz TPP.

Field service operations began for 627 Russian-manufactured ESP systems at the Yuzhno-Yagunskoye field of Kogalymneft NGDU.

The company participated in the Surgutneftegaz exhibition, presenting equipment manufactured by OILPUMP.

1999–2000

History of ESP Service LLC

1999

The production assets of OILPUMP and the Central Production Service Base for Electric Submersible Systems were merged.

OILPUMP began repair and field service operations for the entire ESP well stock of Kogalymneftegaz TPP.

A transportation division was established.

2000

A training center for personnel qualification and professional development was opened.

The company obtained GOST R and ISO 9002-94 quality certification, as well as the international ISO 9002-94 quality certificate.

2001–2004

History of ESP Service LLC

2001

LUKOIL–Western Siberia became the principal shareholder of OILPUMP.

The company was renamed LUKOIL ESP Service.

2002

The production assets of LUKOIL ESP Service and SUPERPUMP PRODUCTION were merged.

ESP repair and field service workshops were established in the cities of Langepas and Pokachi.

2004

The Company was certified under the international ISO 9001 quality management system.

2008–2013

History of ESP Service LLC

2008

Field Service Units No. 7 and No. 8 were established to support operations at the Vostochno-Perevalnoye, Sandibinskoye, and Sredne-Khulymskoye fields, as well as in the city of Nadym.

2011

The LUKOIL ESP Service Branch in the city of Usinsk was established to provide field service for the ESP (PCP) well stock of LUKOIL-Komi.

2012

The primary trade union organization was established.

2013

LUKOIL ESP Service was reorganized from a closed joint-stock company into a limited liability company.

2014–2015

History of ESP Service LLC

2014

Field Service Unit No. 9 for electric water pumps was established at the V. Grib diamond field of Arkhangelskgeoldobycha to provide maintenance services for the dewatering well system.

LUKOIL ESP Service became the sole participant of RITEK-ITC due to its controlling interest in the company’s authorized capital. RITEK-ITC was subsequently renamed EPU-ITC.

The LUKOIL ESP Service Branch in the city of Samara was established to provide ESP field service for the wells of RITEK-Samara-Nafta and Volgogradneftegaz.

2015

The LUKOIL ESP Service Branch in the city of Nurlat was established by decision of the Extraordinary General Meeting of participants of LUKOIL ESP Service. ESP field service operations were launched at the oilfields of TatRITEKneft.

2016–2020

History of ESP Service LLC

2016

ESP Equipment Service Unit No. 10 was established at the Pyakyakhinskoye field.

By decision of the Extraordinary General Meeting of participants of LUKOIL ESP Service, the Samara branch was liquidated.

A manufacturing facility for permanent magnet motors with an annual production capacity of up to five thousand units was established in the city of Kogalym.

2017

The thousandth permanent magnet motor was produced.

EPU-Innovation and Technology Center was reorganized through merger into LUKOIL ESP Service. As a result of the reorganization, the Permanent Magnet Motor Plant was established within LUKOIL ESP Service.

2020

The ten-thousandth permanent magnet motor was produced.

Following changes in the organizational structure of the Company, the Innovation and Technology Center was established on the basis of the Permanent Magnet Motor Plant.

2021

History of ESP Service LLC, 2021

Starting from January 1, 2021, LUKOIL ESP Service became the unified operator for electric submersible system services for the oil and gas production divisions of the LUKOIL Group.

A territorially separate Service Center in the city of Perm was established to provide field service for ESP, PCP, and ESPCP well stock operated by LUKOIL-PERM, UralOil, and PermTOTIneft.

2022

History of ESP Service LLC, 2022

Starting from December 20, 2022, based on the decision adopted by the sole participant of LUKOIL ESP Service, the company was renamed ESP Service LLC.
